The Town of Pittsford's annual Rabies Vaccine Free Clinic will be a DRIVE-THROUGH event held on Thursday, August 11 from 4:30 - 7:30PM at the Town Highway Garage, 60 Golf Avenue. Update your pet's rabies vaccine for free - dogs, cats and ferrets are welcome! Although cats do not need to be licensed, NYS law does require they be rabies vaccinated. For safety, all dogs must be on a short leash; cats and ferrets must be in a secure carrier.
 

The original Erie Canal was constructed from 1817 – 1825. The portion coming through Pittsford was completed in 1822 - this year marks the bicentennial of the Erie Canal in Pittsford!  The Pittsford Town Historian Office has planned a series of events and programs in the month of August to commemorate this milestone in our community’s history. They’ve partnered with the Pittsford Community Library, the Pittsford Recreation Department, Historic Pittsford and the Village of Pittsford to offer fun and informative activities to help you learn more about Pittsford’s canal history.

Pittsford programming on Channel 12 for 7/15 – 7/22:

The first of our four Thursday evening Family Outdoor Movie Nights is this Thursday (July 14) and features Encanto [rated PG] – the story of a magical family with healing powers. Shown on a giant inflatable screen at the Sutherland High School fields (55 Sutherland Street), the movie will begin at dark (approximately 9:45pm). It's free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from Power’s Farm Market (kettle corn) Kona Ice (shaved ice), and Marty’s Meats. Please note, pets are not allowed at this location.

Our new handicapped-accessible kayak launch is ready for use! You’ll find it on the Canal path by the parking lot for the Town’s Sewer Department Office at 3899 Monroe Avenue. The launch makes it easier than ever to get on the water and enjoy the beauty of our canal, especially for those whose mobility is limited. The gangway and docking area are sloped to accommodate wheelchair use. Guiderails and handrails make the launch easy to navigate for everyone. The nylon kayak slide offers access and stability when launching and docking.
