Town Zoning Code Update 2025

The Town of Pittsford updated its Zoning Code in 2025. Find below links to the current Zoning Code, a summary of Zoning Code Update 2025 highlights and a message about the update from Town Supervisor Bill Smith.

Developed to implement the goals and recommendations of the Town's Comprehensive Plan, Town Zoning Code:

• Determines the types and locations of land uses allowed in our community - residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, open space, etc.
• Guides the design and appearance of structures and sites (houses, apartment buildings, offices, parks, etc.).
• Informs property management and use

The 2025 Zoning Code update is the culmination of extensive community involvement – between 2021 and 2025, the Town held a series of special public sessions, and encouraged comments in person, online, and via phone, mail and email. Once the final draft was developed, the Town Board held two public hearings on the full revision. Substantial input and feedback from a broad range of our community members was essential to ensure the updated Zoning Code reflected the community’s development preferences and future vision.
