The Human Resources Department coordinates the Town's hiring procedures including job postings, staff recruitment and selection, and new employee orientation. The Human Resources Director provides employee support in the form of training, development, and benefit management.

The Town’s Historian maintains and preserves the historical records of the Town of Pittsford. Residents and out-of-town visitors look to this resource for answers to questions concerning ancestry, historic buildings, genealogy, and historical facts that may be found in books, artifacts, or newspapers.

The Finance Department manages, protects and reports on the Town of Pittsford's financial resources and is committed to providing the highest levels of financial services. The Finance Director reviews operations to ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and Federal, State, and local laws.

What We Do

The Town of Pittsford's Department of Public Works is comprised of the following entities: Highway, Sewers, Parks, Building Maintenance, Planning, Zoning, and Development, and Code Enforcement. Public Works Administration handles much of the budgetary and planning aspects for projects within the Town of Pittsford. Through this consolidated approach we are able to deliver services to the residents of Pittsford in an efficient and timely fashion.

The court staff provides accurate records and information, manages a progressive office and maintains an efficient court while assisting the Town Justices in dispensing justice in the Pittsford Community with honor, integrity and dignity.

Department Services

The Town of Pittsford is committed to informing the public about events, programs, issues and services of importance to our community. The Communication Director initiates, coordinates and sustains relationships with various constituencies, especially the general public and the media, to ensure open and timely flow of information to and from Town government regarding its policies and procedures, and works to encourage public involvement and increase awareness regarding town programs, services, and recreational opportunities.

Department Services

The Pittsford Town Attorney acts as legal counsel and adviser to the Town Supervisor, Town departments, Town Board, and all Town volunteer boards, advisory boards, commissions and committees, as they work on new ordinances and policies, services, programs, and development applications to benefit Pittsford residents.

Exemptions

All exemptions are part of, and administered according to, the NYS Real Property Tax Law.

Exemptions must be applied for and filed with the Assessor’s Office on or before March 1 in order to affect the applicable year’s taxes.
