Greenprint 25 - Knickerbocker Farms and Willard Farms

Greenprint 25 years

This year marks the 25th anniversary of our “Greenprint for Pittsford’s Future.” A first-of-its-kind, award-winning program, the Greenprint preserved two-thirds of the then-remaining farmland in the Town – over 2,000 acres of open space in Pittsford.

If you missed it, be sure to check out the article from our Pittsford Messenger newsletter earlier this year that features Knickerbocker Farms and Willard Farms. The Greenprint preserved three farms in the Knickerbocker family and a fourth that was later purchased by a family member. Larry Knickerbocker is the 6th generation to farm the land and does so with his son Whitney. Willard Farms was founded in the 1880s. Today, Bill Willard (4th generation) and Marc Krieger (5th generation) farm the land and Bill's wife Paula runs the farm stand on Willard Road. Use the links above to read our spotlights on these Pittsford farms saved by the Greenprint.

We’ll continue to celebrate the Greenprint throughout the year. Be sure to visit our Greenprint 25 webpage www.townofpittsford.org/greenprint25 – we’ll be adding historical photos and information regularly.
