Sunday, March 1 - Thursday, March 12: Plant a Tree with Neighborhood Forest

Kids in grades pre-K – 12 can register to receive a free tree seedling to plant at home. Seedlings will be available for pickup at the library before Earth Day on April 22. Participants will receive an email for pick up times. Planting instructions and species information will be available at pick up. Registration required for each child.

Sunday, March 8, 2:00pm - 3:00pm: Pruning Trees & Shrubs

Learn how to selectively remove unwanted branches, improve a tree's structure, and direct new, healthy growth. Presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Registration recommended.

Monday, March 9, 6:00pm - 7:30pm: Oscars Preview Party

Join PCL staff for a film extravaganza! View trailers of Oscar nominees, vote for your favorites, and pose for a photo on our red carpet. Popcorn and mocktails provided. This event is free and open to the public; no registration required.

Tuesday, March 10, 5:00pm - 6:00pm: Teen Writing Group

Meet other writers and tap into your creativity with prompts and activities. Sharing your writing is always optional! Grades 6-12. Registration required.

Tuesday, March 10, 6:30pm - 7:00pm: The Princeton Katzenjammers

The Princeton Katzenjammers, the first mixed-voice, all-gender a cappella group in the nation, will host a night of jazz, classical, sacred, folk, and pop music, and more! From music like Duruflé’s motet “Ubi Caritas” to the award-winning arrangement of Thelonious Monk’s “Round Midnight,” the Katzenjammers have established themselves as the most versatile musical group at Princeton. This event is free and open to the public; no registration required.

Tuesday, March 10, 6:30pm - 7:30pm: Deer Resistant Plants

Join native plant expert Ellen Folts for a presentation on plants that are rarely damaged by deer browsing. Ellen will highlight a variety of species suited for sun, shade, and part-shade conditions, offering practical tips for creating beautiful, resilient landscapes that can withstand deer. Registration required.

Saturday, March 14, 2:00pm - 3:00pm: This Talk Is Probably AI

Cut through the hype and fear to discover how AI can help you in your daily life. This talk will share examples, quick demos of helpful tools, and a few practical tips for staying safe and skeptical as AI rapidly changes. Registration recommended.

Monday, March 16, 6:00pm - 7:30pm: She, Unsung

She, Unsung brings together local history and women’s life stories from the Rochester area. This collaborative research project is presented by Chandra McKenzie and Anne Coon. Registration recommended.
