Pittsford Celebrates America250!

THE SEMIQUINCENTENNIAL OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE

Celebrate America’s 250th!

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of our country.  Pittsford will be celebrating throughout 2026 with America 250 history and information at various events and programs. We’re planning displays and information from our Town Historian and we’ll feature a patriotic concert by the 198th Army Band on June 12. And be on the lookout for a special Town and Village community-wide America 250 Celebration in June – details coming soon!

Join the Town and Village to honor the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of our country with a special event celebrating America’s great melting pot!

What: E Pluribus Unum Community Heritage Picnic
When: Sunday, June 28, from 12noon to 2:00pm.
Where: Spiegel Community Center Pavilion, 35 Lincoln Avenue          

Let’s gather together, share traditions and celebrate what connects us.

  • The celebration will feature a reading of the Declaration of Independence by local elected officials and a community sing-along of familiar patriotic songs.
  • Bring a picnic lunch along with a copy of your favorite family recipe – one that’s a long-standing family tradition, a holiday favorite, or a dish that reflects your cultural heritage.
  • Recipes will be included in a commemorative Pittsford E Pluribus Unum Cookbook, creating a lasting keepsake of this milestone year.
  • Recipes may be submitted in advance of the picnic, either submitted online here or mailed or dropped off at Pittsford Village Hall, 21 North Main Street, Pittsford, NY 14534.  Please include your name and address when submitting a recipe.
    Recipes will be compiled throughout the summer, and the cookbook will be available this fall.
