This year our NEW rolling pickup for yard debris will make collection faster and more efficient. We’ll be picking up yard debris continuously, Monday through Wednesday or Thursday each week, depending on yard debris volume. During holiday weeks, we’ll collect on Fridays if needed. This represents a change from pickup on specific days for specific sectors of the Town.
Collection remains weekly as before, but now crews can move faster through the neighborhoods. We’ll get through the entire Town by Thursday and begin the entire route again each Monday.
Find out when crews will be in your neighborhood to pick up yard debris using our new interactive online tracking map – collection progress will be updated twice a day.
You have two ways to learn when our crews will be on your street:
- Check the new online map at https://gis.townofpittsford.org/YardDebris/
- Call the Town Highway Department at 248-6270, 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday
Our new continuous pickup process allows Town crews to devote full days to collecting your yard debris. This, in turn, allows for better scheduling of Town employees for road repaving and other major projects. It's also environmentally beneficial, as it means fewer trips back and forth to the highway garage, reducing truck traffic, fuel costs and wear and tear on equipment.
