New York State also has a mass notification system available to Pittsford residents via its NY-Alert program. See details below about these alert programs and how to sign for them. This information also can be found on our Emergency Alert Notifications page.

MONROE COUNTY MONROE ALERT EMERGENCY NOTIFICATIONS
Pittsford residents can sign up to receive local emergency alerts through Monroe County’s MonroeAlert Emergency Notification service. Please note: Monroe County announced November 17, 2025 that it transitioned its localized emergency notifications to this new, enhanced emergency notification system. The MonroeAlert system replaces the County’s previous Hyper-Reach service. To continue receiving emergency alerts, those that previously signed up for Hyper-Reach notifications will need to re-register for MonroeAlert notifications.

MonroeAlert sends emergency alerts, notifications and updates to devices directly from Monroe County 9-1-1 and Office of Emergency Management via text message, phone call or mobile app notification. MonroeAlerts include law enforcement activities, emergency situations, protective actions (shelter in place, evacuation) and public safety threats. Participants can select the alerts they wish to receive. For more information and to sign up, visit their web page at www.monroecounty.gov/MonroeAlert.
