Project update 7/29/09
During the week of July 27, 2009, the Monroe County Department of Transportation will start construction work on the Marsh Road Bridge over Cullen's Run Creek. The bridge is just south of NYS Route 31. The construction will take place in two stages, with the bridge being built one half at a time. Alternating through traffic will be maintained across the bridge, utilizing a temporary traffic signal. The post office driveway on Marsh Road will be maintained as a two-way access, and traffic turning right from this access to go southbound on Marsh Road will be controlled via a turn signal. Residents and the traveling public will be able to access Marsh Road south of the bridge during construction. The work will consist of: removal of the existing superstructure; spot repair of the bridge abutments; installation of prestressed concrete beams; pavement and guiderail replacement within the project limits; and minor grading within the project limits.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the project should be completed in approximately 4 months after the start of construction.
