Towers of Light 9/11 Tribute - 2021

Sep. 11 | 8:00pm - 11:00pm

Twin beams of light will shine from the Power's Farm hill behind Schoen Place on the Canal in Pittsford on Saturday night in recognition and remembrance of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on our country. The lights will be illuminated at 8:00pm and remain on until 11:00pm.

Other symbols of remembrance currently displayed in the Town include: American flags lining Main Street and the Four Corners in the Village, put in place by the Boy Scouts of Troop 167; the 9/11 Flag of Heroes placed by the Town at the Pittsford Community Library, the Spiegel Pittsford Community Center and the Pittsford Veteran’s Monument. The Flag of Heroes bears the names of all who were killed in the attacks. A large American flag at Thornell Farm Park placed by the Town to honor Pittsford Mendon High School graduate Todd Pelino, who lost his life in the World Trade Center.  The flag tributes will remain up through the weekend.

In memory and honor of those lives lost, those who rushed into the face of danger to help, and all of those lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001, the Town encourages members of the public to leave a light on this evening.
