Voter Information
The Town of Pittsford has made several changes to our election process, which will be in effect for the 2010 election season. These changes were made as a result of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) regulations enacted by the Federal government and implemented by the New York States Board of Elections.
In 2009, the Town of Pittsford had 17 polling locations. Working with the Board of Elections, the Town has consolidated to 14 polling locations. The new locations are in reasonable proximity to previous voting sites and provide opportunity for future growth. The new locations also address residents’ concerns with parking that have been expressed over the years. Some previous sites have remained the same as we found they were able to adequately adapt to the new regulations.
Voters will be notified via mail of their new location by both the Board of Elections and the Town of Pittsford prior to the next election (when these changes will take effect).
