On Wednesday, October 28^th, approximately 40 students graduated from training and became panelists (jurors) at the Town of Pittsford's first ever youth court graduation.

The Town of Pittsford is one of the first towns in Monroe County to have a Youth Court.  The Youth Court system, successful in over 1,200 communities nationwide, presents an alternative approach to juvenile justice. By employing concepts such as positive peer influence, accountability, and youth involvement, Youth Courts offer communities a prevention and early intervention program.

Panelists participated in extensive training and were required to take an oath of confidentiality prior to graduation.  To find out more about Youth Court, click here.
