Library Open Limited Hours, Curbside Pickup Moves to Saturdays

While carefully observing COVID-19 health and safety guidelines determined by New York State, the Pittsford Community Library has reopened with limited hours and services, resuming access to physical materials; enter from the parking lot entrance. Services will be phased back in gradually to ensure the safety of Library staff and community members. See reopening hours, services and other details below.
The Library’s book drop remains open. Returned materials will be handled minimally before being quarantined for at least three days. If you return materials, expect a processing delay of 3-5 business days. Regular due dates for all materials have resumed; please check your receipt or your lLbrary account for exact due dates.
The Friends of Pittsford Community Library is not yet taking book donations. Please continue to hold on to items you wish to donate. Please do not put donations in the book drop.

Library Limited Hours and Services
Please read the following guidelines carefully.


  • Plan your visit and limit your time in the library. Building capacity will be limited.
  • Enter and exit through the parking lot entrance.
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times.
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the library. We strongly encourage using hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting the library, and before and after touching any shared objects.
  • Follow markers on the floor and signs throughout the building to maintain appropriate social and physical distance from other patrons and library staff.
  • Limit the items you touch within the library to only those you intend to check out.
  • Materials cannot be returned inside the library. Continue to use the outside book drop. 
Monday: 10am – 7pm
Tuesday: CLOSED
Wednesday: 10am – 7pm
Thursday: CLOSED
Friday: 10am – 6pm
Saturday: PICKUP SERVICE ONLY 10am – 1pm

  • Library materials for browsing and checkout
  • In-person reference services
  • Outside book drop
What’s NOT Available:
  • Seating and tables
  • Public computers, iPads, copiers, faxing, and printing
  • Study rooms
  • In-library shared materials including newspapers, magazines, and toys
  • Inside book drop
The Library’s reopening prioritizes staff and community safety, and incorporates the recommendations of the CDC, New York State, and Monroe County Department of Health. Additional hours and services will be gradually phased in. Check back for updates to hours, services, and guidelines.
Library Curbside Pickup

Curbside Schedule
  • Curbside pickup will be offered Saturdays from 10:00am - 1:00pm. 
  • Requests for Saturday pickup of materials can be made whenever the Library is open, or on Saturdays from 10:00am - 1:00pm. 
  • Please note: curbside pickups originally scheduled for June 30 and July 2 may be picked up at the scheduled time or at the circulation desk during Library hours.
How to Request Materials
  • All library materials currently available on our shelves are eligible for pickup. 
  • Request a maximum of 10 items per household per week.
  • Email us your request at  or call in your request at 585-248-6275. 
  • Include or have ready:
    • your library card number
    • essential information about the items, such as title, author, format, and publication date 
    • three (3) preferred pickup times. Pickups are scheduled on Saturdays up to one week in advance. Possible pickup times are 10:00am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am, 12:00pm, and 12:30pm.
Pickup Instructions
  • Bring your photo ID or library card.
  • Pickup will be in the parking lot entrance to the Library.
  • Follow the posted instructions and observe social distancing floor markings and signs. 
  • To ensure the safety of our staff and community, face coverings must be worn throughout the process. Please limit the number of people in line during the pickup. Surfaces will be wiped down between pickups.
