On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, approximately 70 residents attended a public presentation held at Town Hall on the Erie Canal Area Master Plan. The draft plan (for approximately 30 acres of land located along the north bank of the Erie Canal between Grove Street and the Monroe Avenue Bridge) was developed by the Town and Village with assistance from Behan Planning and Pittsford residents.
The plan capitalizes on the waterfront, preserves key natural features, and is compatible with the Village setting and nearby residential neighborhoods. The plan also addresses concerns and incorporates ideas expressed by residents at a public meeting held in mid-December. The draft plan will serve as a blueprint for any future development - all or none of it could be implemented in the future.
