Department Services

The Pittsford Town Attorney acts as legal counsel and adviser to the Town Supervisor, Town Board, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Historic Preservation Commission, Town Departments and Advisory Boards, commissions and committees, as they work on new ordinances and policies, services, programs, and development applications to benefit Pittsford residents.

The functions of the Town Attorney take many forms, from assisting the community through effective ordinance preparation; drafting of leases, contracts and financial instruments; providing Town Departments with legal advice; and representing the town in litigation. Additionally, the Town Attorney prosecutes code enforcement matters committed within the Town limits and filed in the Town Justice Court.
